Distribution Center Team Lead - Receiving

The Team Lead is a working lead who is responsible for directing the associates on daily work assignments as instructed by the Operations Supervisor. The Team Lead will also work in direct functions within the department they are assigned, as directed by their Manager or Supervisor. The Team Lead is knowledgeable in most areas of the distribution center and able to train associates in those areas. The Team Lead provides general directions to associates and is flexible in moving throughout the center as the workload dictates, including performing direct job functions.

Schedule for this position: 8:00am - 4:30pm
Hourly pay rate for the Team Lead in Stockton, CA: $21.50 per hour

What You’ll Do

  • Directly lead Associates to perform work duties of the department they are assigned to, while meeting accuracy and productivity expectations, in a positive and motivating manner.
  • Will work within their department, in a direct function, up to but not limited to, 50% of their scheduled work week, while meeting accuracy and productivity expectations.
  • Performs all tasks in a safe manner, while eliminating possible safety risks and hazards, by taking proactive steps.
  • Coach and train Associates in a motivating and positive manner, to ensure all Associates have a thorough knowledge of their job expectations.
  • Partner with Managers and Supervisors regarding policy violations.
  • Assist with department meetings, while promoting open lines of communication.
  • Follow operational procedures to verify product movement is accurately entered into the warehouse management system, to ensure accurate inventory.
  • Assisting with yearly inventory responsibilities.
  • Verify that Associates follow best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Responsible for monitoring the progress of product flow, ensure work is completed as required.
  • Verify ship-pack counts, UPC codes, price tickets and quality of merchandise.
  • Ensure all merchandise is handled in a manner free of distress.
  • Meet all safety requirements and conditions.
  • Ensure all identification labels are accurately placed on pallets and cartons.
  • Ensure all cartons placed on pallets are in a manner where damage cannot occur.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area by performing general housekeeping.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

  • Must possess an ambitious, energetic, and can-do attitude.
  • Ability to accurately enter data into the warehouse management system.
  • Certified to operate required material handling equipment, with cherry picker and high reach experience preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of multiple areas within the distribution center.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to be detailed oriented.
  • Able to work with others in a positive manner and in a team environment,
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently,
  • Able to utilize RF, AS400, and/or warehouse management systems.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Basic Math Skills

What to Expect

  • Equipment experience is preferred, but not required. We offer free training and (re)certification.

  • Safety is non-negotiable. We want you to leave work the same way you came in.

  • We provide steel-toe shoe stipend, high visibility vests and share safety tips at our daily start up meetings.

  • Temperatures in the warehouse vary by season

  • Dress code is casual and clean. Shoes must be steel or composite closed toe, closed heel, non-slip. 

Full time and Part time associates are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) retirement savings plan after three (3) months of service. All associates earn paid sick leave.
