Position: Transportation Dispatcher
Pay: $22.00 per hour
Schedule:
Sunday: 7:30 PM – 4:00 AM (Monday)
Monday: 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM
Tuesday: 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM
Wednesday: Off
Thursday: Off
Friday: Off
Saturday: 3:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Benefits:
Support the daily scheduling and dispatching of vehicles into and out of loading docks and from the facility for delivery of materials and freight. Provide assistance to the Lineage Transportation Team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and manage daily dispatch schedules for drivers and equipment to meet on-time service requirements
Build and maintain strong working relationships with carriers to ensure efficient utilization
Utilize dynamic routing systems to optimize outbound freight movement
Create, update, and manage inbound and outbound orders within the dispatch system
Monitor driver hours of service to ensure compliance and prevent violations
Coordinate and communicate schedule changes due to delays, equipment issues, or customer requests
Proactively address operational challenges and recommend solutions to meet customer needs
Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and service quality
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned to support transportation and logistics operations
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
High school diploma or GED required
Experience in transportation, shipping, logistics coordination, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications a plus
Basic understanding of transportation operations, including familiarity with import/export processes
Willingness and ability to learn transportation management systems (TMS)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external partners
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations
