What will you do?

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an experienced Program Management Director to shape and execute the strategy for people-centric transformation as we adopt AI-first processes and digital tools across functions. This role leads a team of specialists and collaborates with business and technology leaders to drive adoption, sustainment, and proficiency of transformational change across the enterprise. You will embed early in initiatives, co-design future state processes, and be accountable for business process change, adoption outcomes, communications, and training strategies.

How will you make an impact?

Strategic Program Leadership (AI, automation, and data Transformation)

  • Lead the design and execution of enterprise AI, automation, and data Transformation programs, integrating comprehensive change strategies to maximize adoption while ensuring structured delivery, stakeholder alignment, and measurable value realization across functions.

  • Serve as accountable program lead, partnering with functional and digital executives to align program roadmap, adoption milestones, and business outcomes with broader transformation objectives.

  • Act as a strategic thought partner on AI-enabled operating model evolution, driving coordinated enablement, capability build, and scalable adoption of AI-first ways of working across the organization.

Early Engagement & Process Design

  • Partner early with function owners and solution architects to understand current state, define future-state Ai-enabled workflows, and plan adoption pathways.

  • Drive integration of change activities into project and transformation plans.

Stakeholder Engagement & Sponsorship

  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders; influence and coach sponsors to drive visible and sustained engagement throughout transformations. 

  • Coach in how to tackle business problems, ground in data-based decisions, and be technically literate to understand and apply digital tools to future-state reimagination.

Communication & Training Strategy

  • Own change communications and training strategy, including messaging frameworks, communication plans, and curriculum aligned to audience needs.

  • Ensure communication and training materials support understanding of new ways of working and digital tool proficiency.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Specialists aligned to specific functional areas.

  • Establish consistent management practices, tools, and templates that scale across programs.

  • Exemplify AI, automation, and data tool use to guide decision making.

Measurement & Feedback

  • Define and track change success metrics (e.g., adoption, usage, proficiency) and provide actionable insights to leadership. Support productivity measurement initiatives.

  • Lead continuous improvement of change approaches based on data and stakeholder feedback.

How will you get here?

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Organizational Development, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise program management, digital transformation, change leadership, or large-scale technology initiatives, including leadership of cross-functional or change-focused teams.

  • Proven track record of leading complex, enterprise-wide initiatives involving technology deployment, process redesign, and organizational shifts, with demonstrated success in driving large-scale adoption of digital solutions (preferably AI, data, and automation platforms).

  • Experience in IT or technology functions with extensive responsibility for delivering complex transformation programs that required structured adoption, stakeholder alignment, and operating model evolution is strongly valued.

  • Formal Change Management certification (e.g., Prosci, CCMP, ACMP, or equivalent) preferred.

  • Strong digital fluency and experience working with digital and technology teams; comfortable with AI-enabled tools and data-driven decision making.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with complex enterprise environments (matrix organization context).

  • Prior experience enabling adoption of AI, automation, or advanced technology solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach leaders and drive culture change.
