Summary of Job Duties:

The Director of Student Accounts will provide strong leadership and effective direction in the day-to-day operations of the customer-facing portion of the Treasurer's Office (Bursar's Office). This includes the University Cashiering Team, the Collections and Campus-Based Loans Team, and the Customer Service Team. The Director will developing strategies that facilitate operations and improve efficiency, effectiveness, and customer service while ensuring compliance with federal, state and university statutes, regulations, policies and procedures are followed; will provide guidance and information to students, parents, internal, and external contacts regarding financial matters; will test and implement new functionality and systems within the Treasurer's Office; and will recommend and implement changes to policy and procedures to ensure compliance with new federal, state, and university policies, procedures, and regulations

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial harmonious working relationships.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least two years of customer service experience

  • At least two years of supervisory experience

  • At least two years of experience in higher education or financial setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in accounting, finance or a business-related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • More than four years of customer service experience

  • More than four years of supervisory experience

  • More than four years of experience in higher education or financial setting

  • Higher Education experience with a student financial information system

  • Experience with Workday Student

  • Experience with reporting related to student tuition and fee data

  • Experience with collections for student tuition and fees


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources

  • Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, institution policies, and applicable laws

  • Knowledge of financial principles, especially related to student accounts

  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, policies and procedures

  • Ability to investigate complaints, identify problems, and design corrective measures

  • Ability to test and implement software changes

  • Ability to plan and direct the work of others

  • Ability to work with others to ensure compliance and responsiveness

  • Ability to prepare and present oral and written information

Salary Information:

$75,092 - $86,355 Commensurate with education and experience
