We are looking for an experienced Director of Engineering to lead our Identity and Security organization. This role involves managing multiple teams, including Identity and Access and Product Security, while driving innovation and excellence in the development and security of our products. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for managing a talented group of engineers and technical professionals.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in engineering management, a strong project and process manager, technical background in security and identity domains, and a proven ability to scale teams and processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define a long-term vision, prioritize key initiatives, and deliver high-quality, secure solutions that drive the business forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor multiple engineering teams, specifically focusing on Identity and Access and Product Security, comprising 20+ engineers and technical staff.

  • Develop security operational processes, including incident response, vulnerability management, and access control policies.

  • Collaborate with product managers and security leadership to define and prioritize the engineering roadmap for Identity, Access Management (IAM), and Product Security initiatives.

  • Develop resource plans to ensure the successful execution of secure product initiatives and infrastructure projects.

  • Set and communicate a long-term vision for security operational excellence, delivery, and efficiency within the Identity and Security domain.

  • Foster a culture of high performance and security-first development, ensuring the continuous development of team members and the growth of engineering leaders within the organization.

  • Drive strategic direction and technical execution for Identity and Access systems (e.g., authentication, authorization, user management) and the integration of security into the SDLC (e.g., threat modeling, static analysis, vulnerability management).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 5+ years of experience in Director-level engineering management (10+ years preferred).

  • Proven experience in leading teams to deliver high-quality, production-grade software in a highly secure environment.

  • Experience in defining and running operational excellence process and incident response for complex security incidents. 

  • Strong technical background, with 5+ years of experience in software engineering or related fields, specifically focused on leading platform teams, compliance and audit completions, Identity and Access Management (IAM) and/or Product Security.

  • Hands-on technical leadership, with direct experience in coding, software architecture, and development processes related to secure systems..

  • Experience with modern development practices such as scrum methodology, CI/CD, automated testing and test-driven development.

  • Experience in deploying and maintaining complex software systems in a production environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Understanding of security protocols (e.g., OAuth, OIDC, SAML) and industry best practices for secure software development.

  • Prior experience going through compliance and audit such as Fedramp, SOC, HIPAA etc.
