AstraZeneca is seeking a Director, Internal and Corporate Communications, International to support communications for the fast-growing International Region, which includes China, Eurasia, Asia-Pacific, Middle East & Africa, and Latin America.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications, International this position will develop and deliver communications plans aligned to the International communications strategy including:
Delivering internal communications campaigns that educate, engage and inspire employees around our purpose, bold ambition and impact
Executing communications plans that strengthen our reputation across International markets, with a particular focus on science and innovation, healthcare transformation and sustainability (climate, health system resilience and health equity)
Developing and coordinating thought leadership content and programmes in support of our policy and health system reform agenda
Operationalising the uplift of communications capabilities, contributing to the development of an industry‑leading corporate affairs function
This role works closely with and supports the Senior Director, Communications, International, in delivering the regional communications agenda. You’ll also partner with the broader International Communications team, Global communications team and in-market communicators to develop and coordinate campaigns, content and key milestones. Expert-level organization and time management skills are key to supporting numerous projects, deliver in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment, coordinating with multiple functions and/or markets and successfully partnering with internal senior leaders.

EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT
Develop and deliver internal communications campaigns that engage employees on our purpose, strategy, and impact, partnering closely with communications teams and the International Leadership Team
Deliver major international milestones, including quarterly results updates, senior leader meetings, leadership country visits, and town halls
CORPORATE REPUTATION & THOUGHT LEADERSHIP
Develop and embed a unifying corporate brand story for International, enabling markets to activate locally relevant narratives while maintaining global consistency
Develop and deliver thought leadership content and execute programmes that elevate AstraZeneca’s voice as an industry leader on science and innovation, healthcare transformation and sustainability (climate, health system resilience and health equity)
Manage AZ’s reputation across priority markets, partnering with research agencies, leveraging tracking tools and working hand in hand with markets to uncover actionable insights that inform local communications strategies
COMMUNICATIONS CAPABILITIES
Operationalise communications capability‑building initiatives across International markets, including implementing frameworks, enabling teams to adopt new tools and processes, and fostering an environment of continuous learning and best‑practice sharing
Capabilities and behaviours
10+ years public relations and communications experience working in a fast-paced global in-house or agency communications team
Excellent written and verbal English communications skills
Established track record of delivering impactful, content rich communications programmes across multiple channels and partners with demonstrable measures of success
Strong digital communications skills and knowledge, including actively using AI to enhance communications work
Self-starter with proven ability to work independently and flexibly, think ahead, engage proactively and take initiative
Sound judgment combined with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
Ability to manage conflicting priorities, stakeholder & colleague expectations
Able to develop and maintain networks across business and cultural boundaries
Capable of achieving results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, often on short deadlines
Comfortable operating in a matrixed environment
