Reporting to the Chief Human Resource Officer, the Director of Human Resource Business Partners (HRBP) will lead a dynamic team in driving strategic HR initiatives that empower people, strengthen culture, and advance the university’s mission. This is a high‑impact leadership role for someone passionate about building engaged HR Partnering teams and delivering exceptional HR experiences.
Strategic Leadership
Design and implement HR strategies aligned with the university’s vision and objectives.
Partner with the Chief HR Officer to define HR priorities and lead enterprise-wide initiatives.
Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR Business Partners to deliver strategic HR guidance across all functions.
Build a collaborative, high-performing, and results-oriented team environment.
Business Partnering
Establish strong relationships with university leadership and departments to understand and address HR needs.
Serve as a trusted advisor, offering insights and recommendations on HR-related matters.
Drive employee engagement and proactively manage employee relations throughout the employee lifecycle.
Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Centre of Excellence (COE) to ensure timely recruitment of talent with the right competencies.
Champion organizational excellence, job redesign, and resource optimization through transformative HR initiatives.
Promote business ownership of talent by coaching managers on career development and leadership growth.
HR Policy Centre of Excellence
Review and refine HR strategies, policies, and procedures specific to Faculty and Research Schemes.
Recommend and implement changes to strengthen the delivery of professional HR services.
What We’re Looking For
Minimum 20 years of HR experience, including at least 10 years in a leadership role.
Deep knowledge of the full HR spectrum, with proven ability to lead strategic initiatives.
Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire, coach, and influence without authority.
Strategic thinker who thrives in ambiguity and can anticipate future needs.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a talent for building trust across diverse stakeholders.
Resourceful, pragmatic, and solutions‑oriented mindset.
Solid understanding of Employment Act and Labour Laws.
