Key Responsibilities:
The Director, Electrical Engineering, is responsible for developing and executing the strategic vision for the electrical engineering function, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Core responsibilities include:
- Electrical Integration – spacecraft electrical architecture, ICDs, grounding/bonding
- Avionics Engineering – electronics, flight computers, sensor interfaces
- Power Systems Engineering – power generation, storage, regulation, distribution
- Harness Engineering – cable routing, connectorization, harness design rules
This role leads the design, development, and implementation of complex electrical systems while ensuring technical excellence and innovation. The Director is accountable for delivering projects on cost and on schedule, maintaining a consistent focus on value creation and quality assurance. They drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in engineering processes and solutions, while overseeing the activities of the electrical engineering team or multiple integrated departments to ensure operational effectiveness and technical success. Collaborating closely with senior management, the Director establishes strategic plans and objectives, translating organizational strategy into functional engineering plans and ensuring their successful implementation. They provide leadership to engineering managers and teams, fostering professional development and alignment with business goals. Additionally, the Director manages engineering budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and ensures compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices. Acting as a key liaison with internal and external executive-level stakeholders, the Director represents the electrical engineering function in strategic discussions and decision-making processes.

Minimum Qualifications:
Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).
Proven track record of successfully managing large teams and complex projects.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to build strategy; identify and implement the steps needed to execute strategy over a business area/function.
Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
Experience leading and supporting organizational changes.
In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies.
An active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field.
Extensive experience in the electrical engineering industry or a related sector.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change and drive continuous improvement initiatives in engineering processes.
Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making in engineering contexts.
Familiarity with advanced engineering tools, methodologies, and software for electrical system design and analysis.
Proven ability to interact effectively with executive leadership, clients, and external stakeholders.
Experience with regulatory compliance processes and certifications in the electrical engineering industry.
Pay Range:
$181,015.00 - $248,896.00Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
