The Site Quality Coordinator is accountable for supporting the implementation and administration of the Quality Assurance Program to ensure services provided comply with the specified requirements.Work closely with employees and subcontractors concerning quality functions and daily inspections.
Complete inspections for concreting work including rebar, formwork, embeds, anchor bolts, overall readiness for pours, pouring activities, post-pour inspections for repairs
Complete inspections for earthworks including subbase inspections, fill material verification, other work completed prior to backfill authorizations, and backfilling operations
Review subcontracted work, such as piling, against project specifications and coordination for acceptance
Review and verify compaction results and concrete break results from 3rd party subcontractors to accept the results
Complete and verify other inspections and tests for project work scopes
Coordinate with the client on project specific activities, including inspections and review of documentation for final acceptance.
Ensure procedures are established to provide traceability from initial order to field installation.
Responsible for documentation review, analysis, and maintenance during quality management system implementation including various reports, logs, turnover documentation.
Support the implementation of CAR, NCR required from audit findings, in collaboration with the Quality Manager.
Generate Non-Conformance Reports when required and coordinate with Bird team, Subcontractors, and Clients for disposition and closure
Audit subcontractors quality management systems for their specific scopes of work to ensure compliance
Support the Quality Manager in the development and implementation of the Project Quality Plan.
Develop written plans and procedures for project specific activities to supplement task planning.
Create and ensure compliance to ITPs and maintain the supporting documentation.
Review and approve quality documentation from subcontractors.
Control and manage document control process for Quality and Project documents
Create and maintain punch list, deficiencies and walkdown packages.
Conduct construction and final walkdowns with Bird Supervision and Client Representative
Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and craft during scope execution to ensure understanding and compliance
Work with engineering team to handle problems of a technical nature arising during construction by issuing RFIs and technical queries
Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects
Safety equipment will be required: 6” high ankle steel-toed safety boots supplied by employee. safety glasses/goggles, hard hat, safety vest and gloves to be provided by Bird
Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in Engineering, or related discipline
Minimum three years’ experience in quality control and /or civil construction.
Experience with Concrete/Civil/Earthworks/Piling & Rock Anchor scopes preferred.
Able to read and interpret civil drawings
Familiarity with other discipline (such as mechanical and electrical) drawings an asset
Experience using CSA A23.1/A23.2 is an asset
Competent knowledge in ASME Codes, CSA Code, and Building Code
Proficient with computer programs, including Bluebeam and Microsoft Office
Turnover experience is an asset
