Sanofi Ventures (SV) is Sanofi's corporate venture capital arm. SV has the ability to seed and lead financings for early-stage private companies with innovative ideas, transformative new products, or breakthrough technologies of strategic interest to Sanofi. Among these areas are digital health and data science solutions aimed at transforming Sanofi into an AI-powered biopharma company, as well as novel biotherapeutics in core areas of Sanofi’s business footprint (including rare diseases, vaccines, oncology, and immunology).
At SV, how we work is a key part of what we do. We are looking for a team-oriented investor who values a collaborative work environment to help execute SV’s Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence investment mandate. In this role, the Director of Investments will report directly to the Partner & Global Head of Digital Investments and will support the generation of new investment ideas, lead and conduct due diligence, and manage and support existing investments. The Director of Investments will gain increasing exposure to board-level work, with potential board opportunities dependent on performance, experience, and business needs.
A successful candidate will be able to understand, interpret, and integrate information from diverse scientific, technical, and business domains to reach investment conclusions. Candidates must be comfortable evaluating AI/ML tools, data science technologies, digital health platforms, and emerging biopharma-relevant software—while also understanding the strategic rationale, financial modeling, business principles, and market dynamics that govern investment decisions.
Directors will have broad exposure to company management teams, Sanofi colleagues (including Digital, R&D, Clinical Sciences Innovation, Precision Medicine, Commercial, and Medical Affairs), investor conferences, and other resources that Sanofi Ventures utilizes to make investment decisions.

Main Responsibilities:
Investment Analysis:
Provide detailed analytical and due diligence support as required on new investment opportunities on transformational digital health and data science innovation across the pharma value chain (including software, systems, data science, and connected health technologies).
Work with technical and business teams to evaluate investment opportunities; solicit input and advice from senior investment professionals, SMEs, advisors, and others, as appropriate, on the prioritization and selection of investment candidates.
Actively lead due diligence process, including calls with internal and external KOLs, including physicians, scientists, and other consultants; perform market analysis and build landscape market and financial models. Support and ultimately lead deal negotiations with management teams on companies of interest.
Portfolio Management and deal tracking:
Track, triage, and maintain new and active deal opportunities in deal databases. Actively prioritize the most significant deals.
Maintain oversight and support management of existing portfolio companies, including participation in board-related activities and preparation, and taking on board observer responsibilities when appropriate and aligned with business needs.
Support analysis and provide recommendations for selling positions in public companies.
Active Team Member:
Actively participate in SV activities and represent SV at the highest standards in both internal and external settings.
Prepare presentations and reports, and is principally responsible for content, style, and analytics associated with the quarterly investment meetings. Contribute to the preparation of Investment Committee materials and present deal recommendations to the Investment Committee.
Represent SV externally on panels, pitch competitions, and other relevant speaking engagements.

About You
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required (Master's/MD/PhD preferred, for those without industry experience, an MBA can be considered)
Minimum of 4 years of relevant digital health or data science industry experience, with a preference for at least 4 years at a venture capital firm with direct investment analysis and due diligence experience.
Experience could also include a mix of venture capital and a top-tier investment bank, healthcare-focused consulting, or a biopharma company within a direct deal-making function.
Demonstrated proficiency in venture finance, including cap table modeling, valuation analysis, revenue and unit economics evaluation, follow-on financing strategy, exit and returns modeling, and waterfall analyses.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic scientific/technical understanding of data science, AI/ML algorithms, healthcare software platforms, and connected health technologies.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to translate technical content into clear strategic insights.
Team player with a hands-on attitude and willingness to be actively involved in firm operations.
Entrepreneurial and self-starter mindset with strong initiative.
Ability to build trust and credibility with founders and management teams.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Hard-working, results-oriented, and focused on excellence.
Flexible, creative business approach with high integrity and ethical standards.
Experience supporting board-level engagement (e.g., preparing materials, delivering strategic presentations, or serving as an observer) is preferred.

The salary range for this position is:
