Citi’s Investor Services team is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director-level Product Manager to lead key initiatives within our Digital Assets product team. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the strategy, development, and commercialization of our digital asset custody solutions, with a primary focus on stable coins and digital money.
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with deep expertise in digital assets, blockchain technology, and financial services. They will be responsible for managing a complex portfolio of product initiatives, from product expansion and commercial partnerships to client solutioning and investment planning. This role requires a blend of product management discipline, commercial acumen, and financial oversight to successfully deliver innovative solutions for our custody clients and drive revenue growth.
Responsibilities:
The role has four primary areas of responsibility:
1. Product Management for Stablecoin Reserves Custody:
- Lead the product expansion strategy for stablecoin reserve custody markets, identifying new opportunities and defining product roadmaps.
- Partner closely with the Digital Asset Client Solutions and Sales teams to forge strategic partnerships with stablecoin issuers.
- Drive the commercialization of custody solutions to deliver on revenue targets and establish Citi as a market leader.
2. Product Management for Digital Money Custody Solutions:
- Develop and execute the product strategy for the custody of digital money, including third-party stablecoins and tokenized deposits.
- Establish commercial partnerships with stablecoin issuers and banks to support the use of their tokens by our custody clients.
- Collaborate with Citi’s Payments and Liquidity Management Services (LMS) businesses to design and implement integrated Payment, Delivery-versus-Payment (DvP), and Payment-versus-Payment (PvP) solutions for our custody client base.
3. Product Solutions Lead:
- Define and articulate compelling client value propositions by compiling and packaging the full suite of Citi's digital asset, and traditional asset capabilities.
- Partner with the Digital Assets Client Solutions team to understand specific client needs and architect tailored product solutions that address their objectives.
- Develop go-to-market materials, solution guides, and client-facing documentation that clearly communicate the benefits and functionality of our integrated offerings.
- Act as a key liaison between client-facing teams and internal product/technology teams to ensure client feedback is incorporated into the product roadmap.
4. Investment Planning and Tracking:
- Lead the annual budget and investment planning process for the digital asset product portfolio.
- Track and report on investment spend, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on portfolio performance, key milestones, and resource allocation.
Qualifications:
- 10-15+ years of experience in Product Management, Business Development, or a related role within the financial services industry.
- 8-10+ years of managerial experience
- Extensive and demonstrable experience in Digital Assets, Blockchain, Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), and/or Cryptocurrency is required.
- Proven track record of developing and launching complex, large-scale products in a regulated environment.
- Strong experience in forming and managing strategic commercial partnerships.
- Experience in custody, asset servicing, funds or payments is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Deep domain expertise in Digital Assets, including stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and custody solutions.
- Strategic and commercial mindset with a strong ability to identify and execute on business opportunities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of how to translate technical capabilities into client-centric value propositions.
- Proficiency in financial planning, budget management, and investment tracking.
- Proficient in the use of AI tools to improve quality and productivity.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and rapidly changing environment.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred (e.g.MBA) or equivalent is preferred
