Development Analyst, Europe
This position is responsible for supporting the Europe Development Team in the evaluation of all development projects in Europe.
Day-to-day activities include market research, lead assessment, financial feasibility analyses, pipeline reporting, competitor market intelligence, and preparing transaction approval documentation.
This role is based in Four Seasons Corporate Office Geneva, reporting to the Vice President (VP) Development. This role involves interactions with primarily internal stakeholders at various levels.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Feasibility Lead and Development Support
- Initial lead assessment by reviewing documentation related to potential projects: site plans, market studies/surveys; conduct preliminary project assessments.
- Conduct market research—research will primarily consist of desk research (e.g., review of market studies/surveys, statistics, etc.).
- Prepare financial feasibility analysis (e.g., pro formas, IRR calculations).
- Present analyses to internal stakeholders (senior Operations executives) for input and approval.
- Assist in the preparation of project summary and critical review documents for presentation to senior executives.
- Maintain an awareness of industry and target markets: changes in supply, demand trend analysis, macroeconomic and geopolitical issues.
- Participate in meetings with owners and potential owners to understand project dynamics and present financial analyses.
- Assist in preparing RFP documents
Administrative
- Prepare a variety of reports and presentations for review by senior executives and other third parties.
- Maintain/update Development department’s information/data base.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics/Finance/Real Estate/Hotel Management or related field.
- Strong familiarity with financial modelling in the hotel industry is expected.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in hotel or in real estate financial modeling, feasibility, and market studies in a hospitality development environment.
- Proficiency in another European language is an asset.
- Understanding of lodging industry metrics; familiarity with hotel operations and processes
- Understanding of the hotel market, particularly the luxury segment.
- Must possess educational and work experience that demonstrates proven proficiency in hospitality market and financial analyses, including experience in conducting market research to create the basis for developing spreadsheets, proformas and cash flow models.
- Very strong analytical skills and facility with financial forecasting; statistical techniques and research.
- Detailed knowledge of the MS Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
