Your Role
We are Looking for a designer to join our team of design thinkers and doers who specialize in helping to tell stories and create experiences in the context of the Lifestyle environments, while working on a variety of projects with both Architecture and interior experience. You will be experienced in handling the client process, with excellent presentation and relationship building skills, and the ability to understand and interpret client needs and requirements.
A self-motivated team player with a positive, communicative and collaborative approach, you will work in partnership with colleagues across Gensler’s practice areas, as well as with vendors and stakeholders at all levels. You will have the knowledge and ability to provide guidance to less experienced members of the Interiors Team, advising and supporting where necessary.
What You Will Do
- Work with design team to develop solutions for various types of architecture and master planning projects;
- Produce hand sketch and computer study model for study of design ideas and for final presentation of design solutions;
- Produce technical drawings for Coordinate with client, construction manager and interior design team to develop construction details, field reports document, produce construction documents on AutoCAD/Revit, freehand sketches on site, etc;
- On site construction supervision of commercial interior projects, read and understand construction drawings and responsible for quality control;
- Perform interior design assignments using professional concepts and procedures;
- Space planning and develop concepts of the finishes, furnishings, fixtures, millwork and other special interior treatments;
- Coordination with other team members for presentation on to clients;
- And establish the quality of all materials and installation; Assist on assigned project management related matters as required and business development pre phase matters as necessary;
Your Qualifications
- Bachelors’ Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited school
- Minimum of 5 years+ demonstrable experience of hospitality and commercial projects, through all stages of design and development.
- A good working knowledge of Revit and Autocad is essential
- Demonstrable presentation and client relations skills
- Excellent graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas
- Excellent collaboration skills, good self-organization and strong ability to work in a team environment
- Has a good understanding of FF&E, colour and material specification and development.
