The Design Manager leads and develops an in‑house creative team responsible for delivering high‑quality, on‑brand creative content across marketing, digital, and internal channels. This role balances hands‑on creative direction, people leadership, and operational excellence, ensuring design work supports business objectives while maintaining brand integrity and creative standards. It partners closely with marketing, communications, product, and business stakeholders to translate ideas into compelling visual stories that align with the Baker Hughes brand program.

As a Design Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Executing visual identity across all touchpoints, ensuring consistency with brand standards and messaging. 

  • Providing creative direction and feedback across design projects including digital, print, presentations, and campaigns. 

  • Translating business objectives and complex ideas into compelling visual solutions. 

  • Acting as a brand guardian, ensuring all creative output meets quality, accessibility, and compliance standards.  

  • Team Leadership & Development 

  • Leading and developing members of the Creative Content Studio team. 

  • Setting clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and support professional growth and skill development. 

  • Fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high‑performance creative culture. 

  • Managing resource planning, workload balance, and prioritization across multiple projects.  

  • Project & Workflow Management 

  • Overseeing the end‑to‑end creative workflow, from intake and briefing through final delivery. 

  • Partnering with marketing, communications, product, and other stakeholders to define scope, timelines, and deliverables. 

  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities. 

  • Continuously improve creative processes, tools, and ways of working to increase efficiency and quality.  

  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration 

  • Serving as the primary creative point of contact for internal stakeholders. 

  • Collaborating closely with marketing, product marketing, communications, and leadership teams. 

  • Presenting creative concepts and recommendations to stakeholders and senior leaders with confidence and clarity.  

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field  

  • 7–10+ years of professional design experience, with several years in a leadership or management role.  

  • Have proven experience leading creative teams in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.  

  • Having a strong portfolio demonstrates strategic thinking, brand consistency, and creative excellence.  

  • Expert-level abilities with Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office software. Motion or interactive design experience is a plus.

  • Design skills are foundational to the skill set of the successful candidate; more important, however, are the following attributes: 

  • Strong creative judgment and attention to detail 

  • Have an Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills 

  • Have an ability to balance creative vision with business needs 

  • People leadership, coaching, and performance management 

  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities 

  • Comfort presenting and influencing at multiple organizational leve
