The Team
The Philanthropic Partnerships team (PPT) works to mobilize resources and build the next generation of champions for global health and development (GH&D), ensuring that philanthropy helps the world’s most vulnerable children survive and thrive. Alongside this, we help advance Philanthropy and grow giving around the world, strengthening the broader philanthropic ecosystem through issue agnostic communities such as The Giving Pledge.* Application Deadline: We will begin reviewing applications as soon as possible and encourage early submissions. Your Role
The Giving Pledge is a promise by the world’s wealthiest philanthropists to give the majority of their wealth to charitable causes in their lifetime or wills. Today, building on that promise, the Giving Pledge has grown into a global community - of over 250+ pledge units in 30 countries - that actively connects to each other and to changemakers across critical sectors—learning and engaging deeply to support progress on a wide variety of the most urgent issues around the world.
Reporting to the Director, Philanthropic Partnerships, the Deputy Director, Giving Pledge will provide strategic leadership and support to the Giving Pledge team to advance its mission and grow the impact and engagement of its global community.
This role is based in our Seattle, WA office and is eligible for relocation benefits for a finalist who is not located in the greater Seattle, WA area.

What You'll Do
Program Strategy and Vision: setting and evolving the Giving Pledge’s long-term direction in line with the needs of the community and the broader field. Leading the continued growth, vibrancy and impact of the Giving Pledge.
Program and Operational Oversight: ensuring coherence, quality, and delivery across relationship management, community engagement and learning, and key pivotal initiatives.
External Engagement and Communications: represent the Giving Pledge externally, cultivate trust with Pledgers, Next Gen, Senior Staff and Advisors, and key philanthropic sector partners. Build high trust relationships with critical collaborators across the community, that play a meaningful role in the direction, vibrancy and impact of the Giving Pledge. Oversee and support outreach to new prospective members and activate member networks.
Leadership and Team Development: lead, inspire, and grow a world-class team of relationship managers and community development experts dedicated to advancing and growing the Giving Pledge community and supporting those within to fulfill their philanthropic ambitions.
Measurement and Learning: define and track impact of strategies, use data to refine strategy and strengthen the Giving Pledge community and the field
Serve as a sector thought leader on UHNW philanthropy - offering strategic insight and perspective to internal and external partners, including Foundation leadership.
Act as a member of the PPT Leadership Team, contributing towards strategy and shared priorities. Work collaboratively across the Philanthropic Partnerships team and broader foundation.
Your Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 12+ years of experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder philanthropic (or related) initiatives involving high-net-worth individuals or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Exceptional management skills and visionary leadership capabilities.
A track record of thought leadership in leading networked initiatives and fostering peer to peer collaboration
A deep understanding of relationship management and the adept in interacting with highly accomplished philanthropists.
Adaptable, creative, and goal-focused with strong analytical and decision-making abilities
Detail-oriented, logical, systematic, and skilled at overseeing complex tasks and multiple priorities.
Comprehensive understanding of a broad array of core topics in philanthropy, including impact, collaboration, governance and staffing, as well as the challenges and barriers to large-scale giving; additionally, awareness of emerging trends within the philanthropic and charitable sector.
Outstanding communication skills and discretion in managing confidential and sensitive information.
Strong dedication to the Philanthropic Partnerships Team mission and foundation principles.

The salary range for this role is $208,600 to $323,400 USD. We recognize high-wage market differences in Seattle and Washington D.C., where our offices are located. The range for this role in these locations is $227,400 to $352,400 USD. As a mission-driven organization, we strive to balance competitive pay with our mission. New hires salaries are typically between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint. Actual placement in the range will depend on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process.
