Major Duties:

  • If selected for this position, you will join the US Attorney's Office, Eastern District of Virginia, as a Deputy Administrative Officer. The incumbent of this position: Serves as Deputy Administrative Officer and, with the Administrative Officer (AO), participates fully in directing and managing the overall administrative support program for the United States Attorney's Office (USAO). Assists the Administrative Officer in managing, through one or more subordinate supervisors, a subordinate staff of administrative, technical, and clerical staff organized in two or more organizational units. Actively participates with District management in the formulation and implementation of district-wide policies and procedures pertaining to management and general office administration. Assists the Administrative Officer in analyzing organizational and work design proposals recommended by subordinate supervisors. Assists the Administrative Officers in developing District-level personnel programs and directly manages a comprehensive personnel program within the context of authority delegated by the Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA). Projects and analyzes space needs based on proposed initiatives, staff changes, and technology improvements. Advises Administrative Officer and the United States Attorney on policy development in the area of procurement and logistical management. Ensures procurement actions are completed as economically as possible.

Qualifications: At the GS-14 level, candidates must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing assistance to upper management personnel in the areas of manpower, facilities/space management, financial planning, budget analysis, purchasing/acquisition management, human resources, internal controls and efficiencies, asset management, administrative/operational services and business continuity planning and execution. Such experience may include; experience developing administrative policies and procedures for these services as well as serving as a principal advisor to senior management on business operations matters; experience coordinating administrative and management support program activities with high-level executives.
