Customer Journey Expert – Trade Finance Data

Trade Financial Services (TFS) is a core business within ING Wholesale Banking, providing products such as Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees and Collections for corporate clients worldwide. To accelerate our digital ambitions, we are strengthening our data capabilities and improving the accuracy, quality and usability of Trade Finance data across the bank.

As a Customer Journey Expert in the Data Liberators squad, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering high‑quality Trade Finance & Working Capital data for global stakeholders, enabling smarter decisions and operational excellence across ING.

Your Role

  • Focus on the accounting logic, financial flows and data analysis of Trade Finance products.
  • Work hands‑on with SAP BO, Power BI and Oracle to analyse data, detect inconsistencies, perform validations and translate insights into meaningful actions.
  • Refine and translate business and data requirements into clear specifications for engineering teams.
  • Support end‑to‑end delivery, including requirement definition, refinement, testing and user adoption.
  • Prepare and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring the accuracy and reliability of delivered solutions.
  • Monitor data quality and system use; identify structural issues and contribute to improvements in data pipelines and processes.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance and Legal to ensure all data flows and processes remain fully compliant.
  • Collaborate in an Agile squad environment, contributing to quarterly objectives and continuously improving ways of working.

What We Are Looking For

  • Knowledge of—or strong motivation to grow in—Trade Finance accounting, product logic and data analysis.
  • Experience working with data: validation, investigation, structuring, reporting or building insights.
  • Familiarity with (or eagerness to learn) SAP BO, Power BI and Oracle, or similar analytics/ETL/reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to break down complex issues into clear, actionable components.
  • Ability to connect business needs with data solutions and communicate clearly with both business stakeholders and engineers.
  • A proactive mindset, ownership mentality and curiosity to continuously improve processes.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience and excellent communication skills in English.
