Critical Utilities Technician – JLL
As a Critical Utilities Technician at JLL, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of mission-critical plant utilities that keep our facilities running 24/7. This position combines hands-on technical expertise with operational vigilance, focusing primarily on the generation and distribution of Purified Water and Water for Injection systems. You'll be the frontline expert maintaining the reliability and efficiency of critical infrastructure, directly contributing to JLL's commitment to operational excellence and client satisfaction. Monitor and operate critical utilities plant systems including Purified Water and Water for Injection generation and distribution equipment, ensuring optimal performance throughout your shift. Perform equipment rounds, routine inspections, and corrective maintenance on pumps, valves, motors, and related water systems while tracking electrical and mechanical loads for all critical systems. Generate detailed written reports and logs documenting operational set points, control points, daily events, and equipment status for review by the Utilities Manager. Inspect facility systems at various heights and in extreme temperature conditions, identifying maintenance needs and creating work orders to address repairs promptly. Execute maintenance work during scheduled windows while maintaining clear written communication with the Critical Environment Team. Respond to emergency maintenance calls during off-hours, nights, and weekends as needed, providing on-call support to ensure continuous system reliability. Collaborate with supervisors and planners to identify root causes of equipment issues and recommend procedural improvements that promote zero-accident safety standards.
At least 2 years of experience in: manufacturing field, pharmaceutical industry
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and architectural blueprints for maintenance and repair activities.
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, with proven capability to perform basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks.
Physical capability to work at heights, in extreme temperature environments, and lift, move, or carry up to 70 pounds regularly.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear, detailed operational reports and documentation.
Availability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and provide on-call emergency support as required.
Current knowledge of safe work practices and commitment to maintaining a zero-accident work environment.
Basic working knowledge of MAXIMO or similar computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for work order tracking and documentation.
Experience with Windows-based computer systems and facility management software applications.
Familiarity with maintaining libraries of blueprints, operating manuals, and standard operating procedures for utilities equipment.
Previous experience working in mission-critical or pharmaceutical-grade water systems environments.
Background in root cause analysis and preventive maintenance program development.
Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements for water quality systems in controlled environments.
Professional certifications related to water treatment, utilities operations, or facility maintenance.
