Overview of the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Coordinator will be primarily responsible for purchasing the quality spare parts to be used on equipment at Saskatoon plant in a timely fashion considering price, optimal delivery, and lot size. The Maintenance Coordinator will also be responsible for material handling activities associated with daily parts management including receiving, issuing and stocking inventories in appropriate inventory storage locations, maintain materials inventory levels, reducing storage levels and increasing inventory turns to optimize equipment reliability and efficiency.

How you will make contributions that matter:

  • Work with CMMS system for maintenance planning and parts inventory control purposes.

  • Identifying, locating, and obtaining parts to meet parts inventory requirements.

  • Maintaining inventory control, researching and ordering parts as required.

  • Ensures inventory data integrity is properly maintained and order requirements are processed in a timely basis.

  • Ensures that CMMS system updates, PO transactions are complete to support accurate purchase order completion.

  • Investigate and reconcile variances in materials inventories, suggesting corrective models to improve accuracy and validity of inventory system.

  • Report and track inventory variances including overages and shortages

  • Issue parts and supplies to maintenance employees and supervisors upon request.

  • Stock spare parts shelves with delivered spares inventory.

  • Keep spare parts shelves clean and orderly

  • Perform related administrative duties as required for tracking and maintaining stock inventory in accordance with applicable procedures and protocols

  • Create inventory adjustment requests for approval and to adjust stock levels after validating the inventory.

  • Assist Maintenance Manager with the department budget including capital preparation, monitoring expenditures and preparing reports.

  • Work with maintenance MRO Buyer and maintenance supervisors on purchase order processing to ensure availability of spare parts stock and that prescribed inventory levels are maintained.

  • Develops and maintains excellent supplier relations fully understanding their strengths and parts offering.

  • Offers new ideas to support fulfilment of department goals and procedures to the Maintenance Manager for continuous improvement, retention of supplier base, company profitability.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Other Administrative functions as required.

  • Food/dairy/manufacturing experience, an asset

  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and good communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Good hand-eye coordination

  • Ability to multitask

  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math

  • Team player, but can also work independently

  • Motivated, who always thinks in a positive proactive manner

Salary: $61,985.00 - 77,480.00

*Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
