THE ROLE

The Conversion Crew Lead at Desert Diamond Arena assists in the supervision of arena conversions team to accommodate sports, entertainment, Private Events and concert productions.  This position ensures that conversions are completed safely, in the configuration needed for each event.  This position also leads the part time conversions team and ensures rules and regulations are followed

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Physically perform and assist with event setups, changeovers, and operational tasks
  • Perform facility operational tasks required in keeping up the facility on non-event days
  • Act on all relevant information from Operations Manager and Event Manager for event setups and changeovers, including assisting the Supervisor during the overnight activities of the Conversion department to include appropriate flooring, risers and portable seating, etc.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of all equipment; arrange for the repair and/or replacement of used and damaged equipment.
  • Work closely with operations and other departments on various projects as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities           

  • Assists in training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on events, including daytime, evening, weekends and holidays, as needed

Education and/or Experience          

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 to 2 years related experience required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Forklift certification not required but strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of facility operations, changeovers and setups
  • Working knowledge of operations equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, staging equipment, and equipment used for installing basketball floors/hockey glass/football field
  • Ability to meet deadlines and function in a fast-paced setting
  • Ability to lift/push/pull or otherwise move 30 lbs. unassisted

Skills and Abilities  

  • Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills required
  • Excellent good customer service and public relations skills
