Are you ready to join our automation engineering team at our Sarnia refinery? We’re hiring a Control Systems Engineer to lead plantwide Basic Process Control System engineering, with a strong focus on alarm management.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 annually
Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training
Minimum Requirements:
- 3 years of control configuration experience involving at least one of the following systems: Honeywell Experion, Honeywell TPS, or Foxboro I/A
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering with a Process Control specialization
- Registered or immediately eligible for registration with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) or equivalent
- Programming and scripting skills are considered an asset; if not currently possessed, they are expected to be developed as part of the role
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective base layer process control strategies to ensure stable, efficient, and safe operation of plant processes
- Actioning applicable items from the cross functional team and console meeting attendance
- Stewardship for monthly alarm reporting
- Participate in process hazard analysis reviews to support identification and mitigation of potential process risks
- Support and maintain alarm management lifecycle activities, ensuring alarms are effectively designed, prioritized, monitored, and continuously improved in accordance with site standards and industry best practices
Location & other key details:
- You will work out of our Sarnia refinery in Ontario, located at 1900 St. Clair Parkway
- Our engineering roles will follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
- Relocation assistance will be provided
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
