Reporting to the Ulan West Production Manager, your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Safely and effectively operate and/or maintain Control Room operations equipment to a standard and quality required to meet target outputs;
Strong record of attendance with active and willing participation in training and development;
Identify and communicate risks associated with health and safety as well as environmental impacts;
Respond to and report trigger action response plans (TARP’s) and add to board/log book in Muster Room;
Receive and forward internal and external work-related information to the appropriate personnel using DAC, beltped (NLT), two way radio, telephone as required. Record where required in the Production Log;
Monitor Diesel vehicle movements and record in on-line system;
Maintain a working knowledge of gas monitoring in the underground environment, the TARPS and continually monitor the gas levels, acknowledging and recording alarms and initiating further communication and actions;
Assist with the analysis of bag samples of the underground atmosphere with the gas chromatograph equipment, notifying the appropriate persons depending on the results.
Maintain a working knowledge of the mine layout, airflows and relevant TARPS and continually monitor the ventilation equipment, acknowledging and recording alarms and initiating further communication and actions;
Undertake the emergency response duties including notification of personnel for evacuation, activating the duty card system, contacting the Mining Engineering Manager, and providing ongoing communication to underground personnel;
Maintain occupational First Aid qualifications and apply first aid where emergency response duties allow, or notify the appropriate internal or external First aid providers when emergency response duties do not allow;
Maintain accurate records of all major activities undertaken in accordance with the above responsibilities as well as various records as requested by the Mining Engineering Manager including personnel location via the Surface tag-board, employee attendance and absences, production delays, etc;
Maintain accurate registers including recording the issuing of general keys (as required), jerry cans and isolation locks;
To be successful, you will have
Completed RIIUND308A Conduct Control Room Operations(desirable)
Minimum 1-2 years’ experience as a Control Room Operator
A good understanding of NSW Coal Mining and OH&S statutory obligations
The ability to work alone and in a fast-paced environment
A keen eye for attention to detail
