Responsible for completing the end-to-end contracting process with healthcare providers and the organization.

Qualifications:

Minimum Job Requirements (Education & Experience Needed)

  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in insurance contracting or payer relations in the healthcare industry.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and government payer systems, contract language, and reimbursement methodologies.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in contract management software, Excel, and data analysis tools.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Insurance industry regulations and standards – Including CMS guidelines, state and federal compliance.
  • Provider contracting processes – Credentialing, recredentialing, and contract lifecycle.
  • Health plan operations – Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial insurance structures.
  • Contract law fundamentals – Especially related to healthcare provider agreements.
  • Healthcare terminology and provider types – PCPs, specialists, facilities, etc.
  • Attention to detail – Reviewing legal documents and verifying credentialing data.
  • Communication skills – Clear, professional interaction with providers, legal teams, and internal departments.
  • Organization & time management – Managing multiple contract requests and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Data entry & database management – Proficiency in systems like CAQH, Salesforce, or internal contract management platforms.
  • Problem-solving – Handling escalations or delays in contracting and credentialing.
  • Work independently and collaboratively – Capable of driving tasks with minimal supervision and within a team.
  • Analyze and interpret legal documents – Understanding key terms and assessing contract risk.
  • Adapt to regulatory changes – Stay current and adjust processes as rules evolve.
  • Maintain confidentiality – Handling sensitive provider and organizational information appropriately.
