The Contract Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that the costs of renewable energy projects are estimated correctly and to ensure any related construction contracts meet the highest commercial standards and achieve Aggreko’s outcomes. 

Responsibilities

  • The establishment of key construction/supply contracts relating to renewable energy construction projects ensuring compliance with relevant processes
  • Identifying potential contractual risks and the possible impacts to the project from the risks, taking steps to mitigate the risks through negotiations with Suppliers/Subcontractors
  • Oversee commercial correspondence, including commercial clarifications and coordination of technical clarifications with Contractors
  • Managing the flow of information from internal key relationships to the supplier
  • Assist with developing the contracting strategies to achieve specific organizational goals and requirements
  • Participate in negotiations with customers and provide key inputs on project specific risks
  • Analyse the benefits and disadvantages of various options for individual contracts
  • Evaluate tenders against the objectives set
  • Provide advice; negotiate variations and mange disputes to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Assist Sales with prequalification questionnaires, agreements, customer T&C’s negotiations and bidding process

What we’re looking for

  • A tertiary qualification in commerce, business, law, engineering or similar
  • Hands on experience in negotiating complex new agreements relating to construction projects
  • Understanding of the principles of contracting and, contract law and related legislative requirements
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Experience contracting for solar / wind or transmission projects would be very highly regarded
  • Demonstrated commercial and business focus
  • Be proficient in all areas of Health & Safety and Quality Assurance
