Commercial Contract Manager supporting the business in bids and project contract management for the Signalling and Rail Solutions Line of Business in the Americas region.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure the identification of opportunities to minimize contract risks and plan commercial risk mitigation strategies.

  • Provide commercial assessment of terms and conditions, risks, and assumptions during the bid phase.

  • Monitor, support, and report on all customer, JV/Partner, and subcontractor contract-related commercial impacts and risks, including placing customers on notice for delays or impacts, managing contract changes/credits, or defending against claims.

  • Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with strategic commercial approaches based on contract types (e.g. FFP, T&M).

  • Develop and maintain contract management infrastructure, including contractual records, correspondence, status reports, and tools.

  • Monitor the baseline schedule’s impacts in collaboration with the Project Planner.

  • Oversee project contract compliance through to completion.

  • Support claims preparation and manage disputes in accordance with contract provisions.

  • Assist Project Managers with negotiation and management of variation orders to maximize returns.

  • Contribute to client business condition monitoring by recommending adjustments to commercial strategies and targets; manage contract closeouts, extensions, or renewals.

  • Manage contractual and commercial responsibilities for subcontractors post-award, serving as the point of contact for subcontractor matters.

  • Act as a contractual liaison between company employees and contractors, ensuring timely review, approval, and reconciliation of variations and claims.

  • Maintain contractual records and documentation, controlling contract correspondence, changes, and other necessary documents. Conduct periodic audits and reviews.

  • Draft and/or review key project correspondence related to commercial content.

  • Develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with company policies; contribute to or influence company policies.

  • Identify and manage project commercial and contractual risks, coordinating mitigation measures and ensuring compliance with insurance requirements.

  • Prepare contract/commercial risk assessments and deliver briefings to project teams.

  • Handle change management to maximize early identification and settlement of issues, minimizing claims and disputes.

  • Work with Supply Chain to ensure transaction compliance with milestones, deliverables, and invoicing.

  • Oversee third-party Service Level Agreement compliance.

  • Manage incoming and outgoing contractual claims related to time and money for customers and subcontractors.

  • Ensure schedule reporting aligns with contractual requirements and supports claimed contractual entitlements.

  • Provide on-demand contractual clarifications and position statements to project teams.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, law, finance, or a related field.

  • Tertiary qualifications in an engineering discipline such as Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil; OR in Construction Management; OR in Quantity Surveying (preferably RICS qualified).

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in railway, infrastructure, or construction industries in contract and commercial roles within complex technical or engineering organizations.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing medium to large-scale design/build or EPC projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in construction law, dispute resolution, or contract management are highly desirable.

Total Compensation Range (Base Salary + Annual Incentive plan) : $144,611 - 182,210
