What we do at Weir
We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet’s future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.
Make your impact
You’ll play a key role in solving real-world challenges. You’ll apply your skills to deliver results that matter whether that’s through engineering, planning or customer support. You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.
What you’ll do
- Process Governance and Digital Enablement: Own and maintain the SharePoint-based NPD Process Hub as the single source of truth for process maps, standards, definitions, requirements, and check sheets. Ensure consistency, accessibility, and governance across the organization.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration and Implementation: Coordinate and implement Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives. Facilitate and actively participate in CI events, enabling effective collaboration across global, cross-functional teams and time zones, including working outside regular hours to align with the Portland CI team.
- Project and Program Management: Plan, manage, and track continuous improvement and process improvement initiatives through structured project plans, timelines, and milestones. Ensure disciplined execution, risk management, and delivery of committed outcomes.
- Performance Measurement and Visual Management: Define KPIs and metrics to quantify improvement impact. Develop dashboards and visual controls using tools like Excel and Power BI to provide transparency and monitor continuous improvement progress.
- Continuous Improvement Leadership and Problem Solving: Support and coach teams in structured problem-solving methodologies (PDCA, A3). Identify improvement opportunities and provide input into improvement roadmaps to ensure sustainable, long-term operational excellence.
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100 percent commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
- Ensure all continuous improvement and NPD activities are executed with safety as the top priority by embedding safety considerations into processes, standards, metrics, and improvement initiatives, and by promoting a proactive safety culture across cross-functional teams
