Job Summary

Sterling Bridge (“STB”) is looking for a self-motivated individual for the role of Commissions Processing Analyst, a critical role in the success of STB’s life insurance distribution strategy. The Commission Processing Analyst analyzes data entry and insurance carrier payments to ensure compliance and accuracy with agency contracts. This includes following up with carriers, monitoring and tracking commission statements, researching issues with STB’s internal and external partners, and preparing reports.

Job Description

Position Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret commission statements to enable accurate classification and entry of data into commission processing system.
  • Analyze commission data for accuracy and create periodic processing reports for client agencies.
  • Research and resolve issues with:
  • Insurance Carriers
  • Client Agencies
  • Sterling Bridge internal partners
  • Other external partners
  • Maintain shared online logs to track and follow-up on service issues which result in untimely processing.
  • Monitor and analyze commission payments to agents and agency to ensure compliance with agreements. Recommend appropriate actions to manager.
  • Maintain approved product compensation records and notify manager of required systems updates.
  • Monitor and analyze commission payments from insurance carriers to ensure compliance with agreements.
  • Execute client instructions for record maintenance including rep code changes.
  • Document processes, transactions, and resolutions.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum of Associate’s degree and two years’ experience analyzing and processing detailed transactions.
  • Ability to understand and accurately interpret carrier commissions statements and data.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to take initiative and prioritize work.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • PC expertise with very strong knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to listen to others and respond professionally with timely and accurate information.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and accurately to meet deadlines.
  • The ability to work well with fellow employees as well as independently.
  • High energy and self-starter with sound judgment skills.
  • Ability to use multiple research tools and follow established conventions for decision making.
  • Display a pleasant, positive demeanor in dealing with our customers to present only the most professional image of the organization.
