This Commercial Finance Manager position in Milton Keynes, reporting directly to the Head of Finance Business Partnering, is your accelerated path.
A key aspect of this opportunity is to drive continuous improvement in our month end processes and develop & evolve the business performance insight into our commercial P&L financial performances.
You will gain genuine opportunities to partner the business on numerous commercial decision support initiatives to enable the delivery of our transformation plans. These include providing commercial guidance on sales & rebate volume/ pricing, production plant cost efficiency modelling & product contribution margin product modelling.
Your key stakeholder groups will include, but not limited to: BMI UKI sales / plant business leaders, functional operational planning teams, the financial control team & our BMI group finance team.

As the Commercial Finance Manager, your key responsibilities will be:
FINANCIAL REPORTING & INSIGHTS
Lead the end-to-end month-end close process for sales and production, ensuring accuracy in sales, variable costs, stock, and inventory.
Generate key performance insights on category contribution margins and overall P&L performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
Develop and present weekly and monthly performance reports for leadership, including sales bridges and commercial P&L packs.
Streamline and automate month-end processes to improve efficiency and reduce non-value-added activities.
Support the HoCF in compiling business led margin performance insight into the LT monthly commercial P&L pack.
STRATEGIC BUSINESS PARTNERING
Act as a trusted advisor to our plant and sales teams, providing expert financial guidance and challenging stakeholders to optimise performance, inventories and FCoP.
Partner with plant managers to drive a focus on unit variable costs (UVCs), ensuring cost control and achieving efficiency targets.
Provide guidance and decision support to the sales team, helping them optimise product mix, volume, and pricing to drive profitable growth.
Support key commercial decisions with financial modeling and scenario analysis for initiatives like new shift patterns or continuous improvement projects.
Support the HoCF in compiling business led margin performance insight into the LT monthly commercial P&L pack.
CONTRACT & REBATE MANAGEMENT
Oversee the accrual and processing of sales rebates and plant costs.
Lead the annual customer rebate calculation process in collaboration with the Head of Commercial Finance and the Accounts Receivable team.
Develop sophisticated rebate models that protect and enhance product contribution margins
PLANNING & FORECASTING (FP&A)
Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for P&L segments, ensuring submissions are timely and accurate.
Challenge sales and production forecasts to ensure they are realistic and aligned with overall business goals.
Key and active lead in submitting P&L group budgets and forecasts in a timely manner.
Partner with stakeholders to develop meaningful KPIs that link operational performance to financial outcomes, such as sales mix decisions that enrich contribution margins or transportation metrics that drive freight cost efficiencies.
Your key skills and experience will include:
Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA or CIMA).
Credible examples of streamlining month end processes and removing non value added activities.
Credible & proven successes as a commercial business partner within sales and / or manufacturing environments. (Exposure to supporting business in offering expert sales and manufacturing advice that drives sustainable profitability).
Standard costing, inventory, production recovery experience & knowledge.
Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools HFM / SAP, ideally SAP S4/HANA.
Proven commercial partnering skills that aid the business to drive sustainable cost savings, efficiencies and /or sales growth in order to generate improving profitability.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
