Collections Specialist - 6 Month Fixed Term

About the Position Mimecast Finance is seeking a Senior Collections Specialist to join our team on a contractual basis for a 6 months. In this advanced role, you will independently manage the most complex and high-value accounts, resolve escalated issues, and drive process improvements within the Accounts Receivable function. You will play a key role in optimizing collections strategies, analyzing trends, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure the financial health of the organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Independently manage a portfolio of complex, high-value, or high-risk customer accounts to ensure timely payment and minimal delinquency.
  • Resolve escalated or sensitive collection issues, including negotiating payment solutions and collaborating with sales, customer service, and management as needed.
  • Analyze collection trends and account performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations to improve processes and reduce outstanding receivables.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives within the Accounts Receivable department, including documentation, automation, and policy updates.
  • Oversee account adjustments, reconciliations, and cash/ACH application for complex transactions.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on collections performance, risks, and opportunities to management.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for collections processes and systems, supporting cross-functional projects and initiatives.

What We are Looking For:

  • 5+ years of corporate collections and accounts receivable experience, with a proven track record of managing complex or high-value accounts.
  • Advanced knowledge of billing, collections procedures, and ERP systems (Netsuite or comparable).
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in metrics reporting and process improvement.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite; advanced Excel skills preferred.

The base salary range for this position is 384,000 ZAR− 576,000 ZAR plus benefits. This range represents the minimum and maximum new hire compensation for this role. The position may also be eligible for incentive plans and additional benefits, in accordance with company policy and local regulations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location with individual compensation also dependent on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills. Final offers will reflect these considerations and may vary accordingly.
