Cloud Operations Engineer – Azure

  • Location: Adelaide
  • Clearance: Must be eligible and willing to obtain AGSVA Baseline Clearance
  • Shift: Standard business hours; participation in on-call roster required

Role Overview

As a Cloud Operations Engineer at DXC, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting customer cloud environments in line with design specifications and contractual obligations. Your focus will be on delivering secure, agile managed services, enhancing automation, ensuring high availability, and driving customer satisfaction.

You’ll work within a collaborative, multi-skilled team to provide both reactive and proactive support across DXC-managed cloud platforms, with a strong emphasis on ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement. This role supports the evolution toward a DevOps delivery model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and support  production cloud environments, including monitoring, incident response, service requests, and change execution.
  • Own and resolve incoming issues, collaborating with team members as needed.
  • Drive service improvements through automation, enhanced monitoring and root cause analysis.
  • Execute customer service requests within defined scope.
  • Use Infrastructure as Code and automation tools to manage environments in compliance with change management processes.
  • Identify and address quality gaps and automation opportunities.
  • Share operational enhancements with development teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in one or more areas—Windows, Linux, Networking, Scripting, Security, Containers, Active Directory
  • Experience with DevOps and Agile practices
  • Strong ownership, adaptability, and teamwork
  • Background in infrastructure or software automation delivery

Desirable Skills & Tools

  • Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates
  • Terraform
  • Scripting: Bash, KSH, Python, PowerShell, Windows Batch
  • Configuration tools: Ansible, Git/GitHub
  • Kubernetes
  • JSON, YAML
  • Software Defined Networking
  • Monitoring & automation tools (e.g., Azure Log Analytics Workspace)
