China Marketing Leader - Personal Care

Summary:

Responsible for the development, and execution of the marketing and growth strategy for Personal Care for designated regions in alignment with global strategy.
Close interaction with the Commercial organization and the Technology team to ensure the strategy is clearly understood and executed.
Development of marketing programs, competitor analysis and support of regional trade shows and exhibitions.
Driving and aligning regional Branding and promotion needs aligned with Marcom team to ensure solid brand recognition and promotion.
The position provides direction to the R&D Team to align product portfolio and developments in alignment with identified market needs by defining key NPC’s for the region.
Accountable for NPI sales targets for Personal Care in the designated area.
The position will be fully responsible for managing and aligning the ADE’s in the region, in order to optimize activities with market needs and strategy, providing a most effective implementation and support of new and existing technologies in line with strategy, also supporting the Sales team in product adoption.
Responsible for meeting sales targets aligned with yearly growth projection plan for Personal Care product portfolio in the designated region.

Responsibilities Include:

Strategy:

  • Development and execution of the Personal Care Strategy for designated region in alignment with global strategy
  • Driving strategy execution by aligning regional teams and Marcom partners
  • Align with open innovation teams to speed up innovation process
  • Driving and acceleration of new NPC needs for execution
  • Providing guidance for regional growth drivers and requirements, competitive landscaping & benchmarking

Customers:

  • Maintaining and developing customer relationships
  • Coordination of activities of Tier 1 with ADEs, Sales in other regions for Personal Care projects
  • Internal voice of customers of designated region for Personal Care as well as ensuring that needs of those customers are heard and understood in the global organization
  • Driving NPCs
  • Development of regional marketing concepts focused on portfolio. Creation of marketing programs.
  • Follow up and coordination of customer projects aligned with the portfolio

New products:

  • Giving strategic input of future product developments based on customer input and market analysis.
  • Identification of possibilities for new product introductions (NPIs) as well as support of their development and creation for portfilio.
  • Management of commercialization process for new products incl. launch packages, Sales tools, literature, advertising, follow up with Sales teams etc. Coordination of training of direct Sales team and distribution
  • Meeting sales targets of new products for designated region.

Competitor and market monitoring

  • Collection of competitor- and market information incl. new technologies, market trends, patent options, price structures etc.
  • Gathering of regional trends in the designated areas for market sizes, needs etc. and analysis of opportunities/ risks for Momentive
  • Market screening for 3rd party sales/technology opportunities to accelerate growth.

New business options

  • Evaluation of potential product lines, business fields or companies for strategic mergers or acquisitions

Advertising

  • Collaboration with Marcomm for creation of a Marketing communications plan.
  • Support of conferences for exhibitions etc. in designated countries.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

  • Diploma, masters or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical engineering or similar role
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B Marketing, in Personal Care
  • Experience in the Cosmetics industry
  • High technical affinity
  • High level of project management skills
  • Strong customer orientation and in-depth experience in customer interaction
  • Strategic thinking with strong analytical skills and result-oriented work approach
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Dynamic, innovative team player with high level of self-initiative
  • Strong social and intercultural competencies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formulation experience
  • Communication Skills – verbal, written and formal presentations
  • Ability to work with cross-functional & multicultural teams
  • Fluent English written and spoken is a must
  • Additional languages will be a plus
