Our Organic Lab specializes in a wide variety of measurements including QC/QA, Failure Analysis and R&D support. We utilize a large number of techniques for this work including GC-TCD/GC-FID/GC-MS, IC, FTIR, Raman Spectroscopy, UV-Vis, TGA/DSC, ATD-GCMS, HPLC/HPLC-MS and NMR. The GC analyst will work in an exciting, fast-paced and dynamic environment and be part of an enthusiastic team passionate about providing quality data and answers to our customers in a timely manner. This individual will be responsible for running routine samples by GC (coupled with TCD, FID and MSD), and performing instrument maintenance. The chosen candidate must like running routine and non-routine QC/QA work.
The Chemist II will be responsible for conducting chemical analyses, experiments, and research to support the development, quality control, and improvement of specialized gases and chemicals for the electronics industry. This role involves applying advanced chemical principles and analytical techniques to ensure product integrity and process efficiency.
Responsibilities
Analyze and interpret TD-GCMS data, generate detailed reports, and present findings to internal teams and customers.
QC/QA GC analysis in the outgassing GC lab.
Operate and maintain laboratory instrument and equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality, and perform routine troubleshooting.
Collaborate with the organic lab team and quality assurance teams to support process improvements and product development initiatives.
Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001), and environmental regulations.
Document all experimental procedures, observations, and results accurately and thoroughly in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems.
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for non-conforming materials or processes.
Provide technical support and training to junior chemists or laboratory technicians as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in chemistry or materials science or equivalent education with 1-3 years of GC-MS analysis and laboratory experience in industry OR MS degree in chemistry or materials science or equivalent education with 0-2 years of laboratory experience in industry.
Individual must have initiative, be self-motivated, and be able to work under time pressure and change plans on short notice.
Excellent English communication skills (both written and spoken) and a strong passion for customer service.
Work safely at all times and ensure a safety culture and a safe working environment in the laboratory.
Administer safe laboratory practices, and keep all safety related trainings up to date.
Good organization skills
Good problem solving skills, innovative, and resourceful.
Proficient in computer skills such as LIMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
Must be able to work in a team environment with good communication skills
Ability to operate and maintain assigned laboratory equipment
Ability to work under time pressure
Must have initiative and be self-motivated
Ability to change plans on short notice and work with a flexible schedule including periodical weekend work
Ability to lift 50lbs with the help from coworkers
