Employees who are Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) participating members will have their base salary increased by 6.95% and pay a 6% employee contribution to PERS; the salary range noted above reflects base salary only.
This position is bilingual and requires an ASLPI level 2. Job offer will be contingent upon passing test(s) evaluating your proficiency in the bilingual requirements of the position. This position may receive a 5% differential pay based on passing the required language test.
We are hiring a permanent, full-time Cashier to join our team at the Oregon School for the Deaf.
All students enrolled at the Oregon School for the Deaf (OSD) are entitled to the best education that our resources can provide. In this role, you will handle money, purchasing, and bill payments. You will also support the Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor, the Nutrition Supervisor, and the Student Health Services Supervisor.
Create, update, and maintain policies and procedures related to cash flow and SPOTS processes
Communicate with the ODE Business Office, staff, students, and parents to share information and explain cashiering policies
Manage budget and petty cash boxes, complete daily reconciliations, process reimbursements, and refill cash boxes
Prepare and mail quarterly student trust account statements using the Budget Reporting System
Support the Nightmare Factory planning team with ordering, payments, and service scheduling
Provide clerical support to the Nutrition and Facilities departments
Cover other clerical positions at OSD as needed

Minimum qualifications:
Two years of general clerical experience, including at least one year of typing, word processing, or document creation
OR an associate’s degree in any field plus one year of general clerical experience
(College coursework may substitute year-for-year for experience)
AND
ASLPI level 2 or higher within 12 weeks of hire
