The Capital Markets Sales Manager within the Flagstar Financial & Leasing group is responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and growth of the bank’s leasing acquisition, syndications and distribution platform. This role involves managing a team of capital markets professionals, optimizing transaction structures, and driving revenue growth. The role requires a seasoned leader with deep leasing and capital markets expertise, strong investor relationships, and a strategic vision for expanding the bank’s leasing capabilities.Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
Develop and execute a strategic plan to grow the Capital Markets business line including market acquisitions, leasing syndication and distribution businesses.
Expand the bank’s presence in capital markets by enhancing relationships with institutional investors, non-bank lenders and syndication partners.
Establish pricing and risk strategies to optimize profitability and risk-adjusted returns.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
Build, lead, and mentor a team of capital markets professionals, ensuring strong execution and deal flow.
Foster a high-performance sales culture focused on client solutions and market expansion.
Drive collaboration across internal leasing, risk, and credit teams to support deal origination and execution.
Deal Structuring & Execution Oversight
Oversee lease syndication and secondary market distribution ensuring alignment with risk and regulatory standards.
Lead complex transaction negotiations and approve key deal terms.
Manage portfolio strategy, ensuring capital efficiency and revenue growth.
Market Intelligence & Risk Management
Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics to inform business strategy.
Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, internal policies, and risk management frameworks.
Represent the bank at industry conferences and investor meetings.
Uses independent judgement and discretion to make decisions related to client needs and the portfolio.
Analyzes and resolves problems pertaining to client needs and the portfolio.
Responsible for talent management functions including: employment, performance evaluations, staff development/training, disciplinary actions, succession planning and ensuring all staff comply with compliance requirements.
ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:
Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent).
Minimum experience required: 7+ Years of experience in capital markets, equipment leasing, or structured finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Track record of leading and scaling a leasing syndication or structured finance platform.
Strong institutional investor relationships and deal execution expertise.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication & presentation skills .
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong credit, portfolio risk analysis, pricing and documentation negotiating skills in support of credit underwriting / backstopping decisioning in Syndications in support of overall sales growth initiatives.
Good understanding of standard equipment leasing products.
