Position Summary:
The CAD Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization’s Computer-Aided Design (CAD) environment to ensure reliable, efficient, and standardized design operations. This role oversees CAD software installation, configuration, licensing, and upgrades, while establishing and enforcing drafting standards, workflows, and best practices across engineering and design teams. The CAD Administrator provides technical support to users, troubleshoots CAD-related issues, and collaborates with IT to ensure system performance, data security, and alignment with company technology infrastructure. This plays a key role in training users, improving design processes, and supporting cross-functional projects that rely on accurate digital design information.
Work You’ll Do:
System Setup, Maintenance and Licensing Management
Install, configure, and update CAD software
Ensure software licenses are managed and compatible
Coordinate with vendors for renewals or updates
Collaboration and Security
Ensure secure sharing and storage of design data
Work with IT to back up and recover CAD data
User Support and Training
Provide technical support to CAD users
Train new users and create documentation or SOPs
Troubleshoot software or hardware issues related to CAD
Recognize common user issues and create training to avoid common problems
Data Management and Integration
Manage CAD data and its integration with systems
Maintain CAD standards (naming conventions, templates, etc.).
Support product lifecycle management
Process Optimization
Automate repetitive CAD tasks (e.g., via macros, Mapkey or scripting).
Develop and implement CAD best practices, guidelines, and workflows.
Standardize design workflows and ensure compliance with engineering best practices
Team:
This position will be part of CAD and PLM team based at Coimbatore, India.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering
5 years or more experience in administration of CAD systems like Creo, AutoCAD etc
5 years or more experience in an engineering field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience of using Creo, ERP and Windchill
Team player with excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
