Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineer located in Dulles VA. The Systems engineer would have a general systems engineering background and experience.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The candidate engineer may be responsible for some or all the following:

  • Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts
  • Work with technical teams to develop system architecture (behavioral, physical, logical) and associated DoDAF views, using PTC Modeler software
  • Help maintain requirements database in DOORS and integrate new system requirements with mission partner technology integration. Ensure requirements are properly captured and traced in system model.
  • Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis
  • Facilitate weekly working groups, which includes collecting agenda items, sending agenda to participants, generating meeting minutes, and disseminating to participants.
  • Facilitate Engineering Review Boards (ERBs) and Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), which requires communication across program IPTs and subcontractor, mission partner, and customer coordination.

This requisition may be filled at either the Systems Engineer (level 2) or Principal Systems Engineer (level 3) depending on experience and qualifications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Engineering or related STEM discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years (level 2) or 5 years (level 5) of relevant experience
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active or current Top Secret level clearance and the ability to obtain SCI level access at time of application.
  • 1+ years of experience developing or reviewing requirements within DOORS or similar tool
  • 1+ year experience in team environments with leadership responsibilities
  • 1+ year experience creating, updating, and maintaining system performance documentation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Well-organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team.
  • Environment focused on satisfying the customer's mission.
  • Should be a self-starter with the ability to learn quickly, prioritize tasking, and work with minimal supervision
  • Agile 101 training
  • Prior experience in customer-facing settings is a plus
  • Experience with implementing and using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools, practices, and methods
  • Strong understanding and broad application of complex engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.) for the development of complex systems of systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps and continuous integration/ continuous deployment (CI/CD) is a plus

Primary Level Salary Range: $91,000.00 - $127,000.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $161,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
