Who you’ll work with
You will work with a dynamic team responsible for the risk, controls and governance of a dually registered broker-dealer and RIA within the first line. The team works across the organization and coordinates amongst key stakeholders in the business, IT, operations, product, legal and compliance. The team is also closely involved with other workstreams as a Subject Matter Expert to provide feedback for other priorities and IT development teams within Retirement Services.
About The Role
This role is key to the support of advisor tools and our strategic vision for supporting our Wealth Management initiatives; ensuring compliance with broker-dealer regulations and for managing and maintaining the back log of enhancements and budget; this includes supporting both BAU activities and enhancements on advisor proprietary tools, 3rd party platforms as well as supporting the Regulation Best Interest workflow and the tools that support the B/D’s compliance with Reg BI, DOL and other state insurance and securities requirements. Also, the role leads other business as usual projects related to the ever-evolving regulatory environment.
Responsibilities:
Owner of end user tools for new business applications such as annuity order entry, proprietary e-delivery/signature platforms, custom tools built for financial advisors
Responsible for defining E2E system vision working in collaboration with key stakeholders across the company such as but not limited to legal, compliance, risk, product, operations, distribution
Managing the backlog of development work
Manage internal IT resources as well as 3rd party vendor SLA commitments where appropriate
Ensuring that development aligns with customer needs and business objectives
Responsible for being the strategic bridge between business stakeholders and development teams
Coordination with the scrum team to develop backlog and manage to timelines and deployment schedules
Perform UAT testing on weekends and after hours
Work to develop implementation planning and manage change management activities in coordination with training teams and distribution
Ability to evolve platforms when opportunities of improvement are identified
Understanding of industry trends, regulatory environments and ability to adapt quickly
Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria and testing plans
Present strategy vision and ongoing status reports to senior and executive leadership
Effective management of projects to prevent scope creep, reduce development waste and accelerate time to market
Determine, implement and perform control activities around system administration and reporting to ensure regulatory compliance of features and functionality
Manage, lead and monitor implementation activities related regulatory compliance changes across organization impacting the business with all key stakeholders including system updates, procedure documentation, reporting, monitoring
Skills & Qualifications:
Analytical Skills: ability to assess platform performance, evaluate business value, and make data driven decisions
Communication: strong skills to articulate and document vision, negotiate priorities, facilitate cross-functional teamwork
Technical Understanding: knowledge of software delivery and development processes to be an effective liaison between business and development
Problem solving ability to resolve conflicts, prioritize tasks, and adapt
Customer focus: understanding user needs and advocating for both internal and external customer experiences
Securities licenses preferred but not required
Undergraduate degree required
At least 5 years of financial services experience, preferably with a broker-dealer and/or RIA
Work Location:
This position is based in Corebridge Financial ’s Houston-TX or Dallas-TX office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
Travel:
May include up to 25%
