Position Description

The Anoka County Attorney’s Office has an immediate opening for Business Systems Analyst. The Business Systems Analyst serves as primary resource in administering and managing our current database applications as well as coordinating projects related to current systems, learning new systems, and troubleshooting support for all department applications. The Business Systems Analyst coordinates with staff to resolve technical issues within the department and to ensure that staff and systems work effectively and efficiently.

This is a full-time, exempt, position. Interview are anticipated to take place March 17th, 2026 for those selected to move forward in the hiring process.

Pay & Benefits

  • Salary: $74,214.40 to $89,065.60 ($35.68 to $42.82 per hour).

  • Anoka County Salary Schedule Grade 34: $74,214.40 to $103,896.00 ($35.68 to $49.95 per hour).

Work Location

  • This position is located at the Anoka County Government Center in Anoka.

  • Most work is conducted on site at the Anoka County Government Center and attached Courthouse.

  • Expected work hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Schedule may vary based on business needs and supervisory approval.

  • Occasional extra hours and evening hours are required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
These examples are not all inclusive and are intended to be illustrative of primary responsibilities of an Anoka County Business Systems Analyst.

  • Review, analyze, and evaluate the County Attorney’s Office user needs to create sustainable systems solutions that support overall County Attorney strategies.

  • Provide technical assistance, make recommendations on best practices, learn/teach new processes, document activity, and evaluate the division’s needs and requirements to create systems solutions that support the County Attorney’s Office.

  • Collaborate with technology staff and subject matter experts to design, configure, and modify the case management system to benefit all users.

  • Develop strategies or infrastructure level recommendations surrounding improving processes, efficiency, and practices of the County Attorney’s Office business systems.

  • Coordinate and train staff on workflow processes and updated systems and serve as a resource for questions and technological issues.

  • Create detailed documentation on system requirements and business needs.

  • Make recommendations on best practices, solve complex business process issues and interact with technical teams to define future system specifications for integrations, document requirements, process workflows, solutions materials, and obtain more lean business processes.

  • Perform relational database analysis and design and create and train managers and others on the meaning and use of reports using various reporting tools.

  • Provide direct support and be a resource to divisions and external partners on applications queries, troubleshoot moderately complex issues, and triage issues for the case management system or to appropriate subject matter expert for resolution as needed.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group on the Business Systems team as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of job-related experience

  • In lieu of the required education, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed

  • Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Project Management or related field

  • Computer systems and application software experience including using database tools, java, word processing and spreadsheets

  • Experience with reporting and data software (e.g. SSRS, SSMS) including systems analysis procedures, design and Implementation

  • Experience with process mapping, data extractions, coding, and technology projects

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

Physical Demands and Work Conditions

  • Standard office environment

  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus, such as to work on computers. Ability to see colors, shades, and brightness

  • Hearing abilities required for general and phone communication, signals, and machine sounds

  • Assignments are sedentary, occasionally alternating between sitting, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling as required to perform job responsibilities. Frequent wrist and finger manipulation to complete computer work

  • Occasional lifting of 10-20 lbs.

  • Equipment used includes computers, phones, and standard office equipment

  • Occasional travel to other county work sites as needed. Travel between work sites may require driving a county vehicle and/or a personal vehicle
