General Description:

The Business Insights & Development Manager is a highly collaborative role that supports all elements of the franchise team through the provision of data analytics, reporting and technical modelling.  The activities of collecting and analyzing business data will culminate in the provision of actionable insights and strategic recommendations to stakeholders within an assigned portfolio.

This role will also encompass several elements that span across the entire BeOne portfolio.  Of prime importance is increasing the local affiliate’s SFE capacity and support.  While the initial focus for this will include administration of the SIP, medium term development opportunities also exist in customer profiling & segmentation, as well as key account planning.  It is expected that the Business Insights & Development Manager can facilitate growth in this space through structured data analysis & reporting.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a hands-on person who brings a strong work ethic and highly collaborative mindset.  Considering the wide variety of stakeholders across the franchise team, strong communications skills, flexibility and a team-oriented approach will be critical.  Equally will be the ability to champion data-based decision making to enhance business growth and improve operational efficiency.

Role Responsibilities:

Provide data, reporting and actionable insights to support the franchise team for the assigned portfolio.  Identify key opportunities & risks and facilitate data-driven decision making.

  • Identify key business questions (hypotheses), collate & analyze primary and secondary data, build analytical models and distill actionable findings.

  • Analyze business performance, market trends and customer behaviours to support cross-functional planning, development of commercial strategy and tactical execution.

  • Maintain and optimize brand performance reporting packs, and where appropriate, create & maintain dashboards that facilitate sharing of insights across the franchise team.

  • Provide end-to-end BI support for the assigned portfolio, incl. patient-based forecasting (LRP, AOP), demand planning and other bespoke analysis requests.

  • Manage the rebate accrual process for assigned portfolio, incl. monthly assessment of SPA and RSA positions.  Identify ways to automate the overall process and improve the accuracy of forward projections.

Support the development of a high-performance culture within the customer-facing teams:

  • Lead the development, optimization and administration of the Sales Incentive Scheme (SIP).  Ensure that the scheme is aligned to affiliate business goals, incorporates the latest insights and motivates the CBM’s appropriately.

  • In collaboration with the Customer Excellence Manager, formulate and operationalize customer profiling, targeting and segmentation models to maximize effectiveness of in-field activities.

  • Support the in-field team via the provision of territory level reporting tools, as well as data that enables development of robust key account plans.

Undertake analyses to identify new business opportunities, prioritize future pipeline assets and assess the potential of business development opportunities identified by the Business Development team:

  • Develop forecast models for assessing the value of business development assets that have been identified via the Business Development team.

  • Investigate local market data sources as required during the LRP process, to enable future pipeline assets to be evaluated and prioritized.

  • Lead the consolidation of business case templates for business development assets.  Work with the Business Development team to ensure ANZ assessments can be consolidated with inputs from other JAPAC markets, as needed.

Qualification Required:

Education/Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree in a discipline with substantial analytical / numeracy focus (e.g. Economics, Science, Data Analytics).

8+ years’ experience in pharma (Specialty Care/Oncology highly preferred) ideally in role(s) applying market analytics or business planning expertise.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience of the Australian pharmaceutical industry, gained through commercially facing roles, market insights generation, product forecasting & reporting or business / portfolio planning.

  • Specific experience in haematology and / or oncology therapy areas will be highly regarded.

  • Ability to use data to tell a story (and articulate complex concepts for non-technical audiences).

  • Strong numerical, analytical and collaboration skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate broadly with members across the franchise team.

  • Strong understanding of the data sets commonly used across the pharma industry.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products, incl. Excel, PowerPoint and Word.  Experience in creating reports/ dashboards using Power BI or use of other analytics platforms well regarded.

  • Adopts a growth mindset; looks for opportunities to continuously improve work processes and own skills.
