DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW 

 
Co-op and Internship opportunities allow you to gain valuable work experience across a number of the businesses at TD. The Small Business Banking (SBB) & TD Auto Finance Risk Strategy team is responsible for the development, monitoring and execution of credit risk automation strategies and initiatives that will assist our business partners in achieving growth and profitability while supplying effective challenges to maintain the overall risk quality of our lending portfolios. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION 

 

The team supports business (TDAF & SSB) growth within TD's risk appetite. The core function of team is to build Automated Risk Decisions (ARD) to get faster and more consistent credit decisions, to ensure we continue to gain market share and remain competitive in the marketplace. The team designs and maintains acquisition, offers and account management strategies. 

The team interacts with various teams frequently to ensure the alignment on objectives, compliance and governance: Business,  Policy, Credit Center, Model Development, Model Validation, Operational Risk, Technology etc. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently enrolled in an Master in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Data, Business/Commerce or related field 

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term (requirement of all co-op/intern positions) 

 

Skills and Knowledge Required Prior To Going into Role: 

· Self-motivated: strong ownership mentality and can-do attitude 

· Understanding of Retail Credit Products and Credit Risk Metrics 

· Ability to handle multiple projects, manage timelines, and adapt to shifting priorities. 

· Comfort in dealing with a certain degree of ambiguity 

· Analytical thinking capabilities and knowledge on data extraction, data analysis and data visualization by 

leveraging a set of tools (i.e. SQL, SAS, Python and Tableau). Other tools such as Angoss would be considered an asset. 

· Communication skills and presentation skills 

· Prior experience in machine learning (e.g., Decision tree, XGBoost) and building models in MS Azure would be considered a strong asset
