We are seeking a highly qualified Payroll Consultant to join our growing SylogistEd Implementation Team. This individual will specialize in Payroll Implementations in the K-12 Education Sector and serve as a subject-matter expert on school district payroll operations. The Payroll Consultant will work directly with school business officials and district payroll personnel to implement and support SylogistEd’s accounting and payroll solutions, ensuring accurate setup, smooth transitions, and long-term customer satisfaction. This position is remote; however, travel to a school district’s local office will be required during certain phases of the implementation.
Responsibilities Include:
Implementation & Configuration
· Configure and implement the Payroll and Human Resources modules within the SylogistEd K-12 accounting software suite according to company standards, best practices, and district requirements.
· Analyze district payroll processes, pay schedules, and benefit structures to ensure proper software setup.
· Import, validate, and reconcile employee demographic, contract, and pay data during data migration.
· Perform payroll testing and validation with district staff to confirm accuracy of calculations for earnings, deductions, and benefits.
· Document business processes, configuration steps, and district-specific payroll requirements.
Customer Training & Support
· Provide end-user training for payroll administrators, HR staff, and business managers.
· Develop training materials, reference guides, and recorded sessions to support user adoption.
Project Participation
· Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop and execute project plans, including milestones, deliverables, and risk management.
· Participate in weekly status calls and provide clear updates on progress, issues, and upcoming activities.
· Act as the primary contact for customer payroll issues during implementation—tracking tickets, communicating updates, and working with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly and professionally.
· Assist in documenting “success criteria” and ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and to customer satisfaction.
· Contribute to testing and feedback for new payroll features prior to release.
Internal Collaboration
· Serve as the internal payroll subject-matter expert, supporting other team members with payroll and HR functional knowledge.
· Partner with the Product and Development teams to provide feedback, enhancement requests, and validation of new functionality.
· Participate in post-project reviews to document lessons learned and contribute to process improvement.
