Job Title: Biobank Associate Principal Informatician

Job Summary:
Human Biological Samples (HBS) are fundamental to medical research in the discovery, development and implementation of new treatments and diagnostics. HBS are ethically sensitive materials, and the collection, handling and access to HBS are subject to strict regulations, principles and ethical guidelines.
This role is responsible for collecting, managing, and analyzing data to derive insights and support decision-making processes.This role also owns the enterprise biobanking capability model, defining what biobanking automation, AI, and digital platforms exist, why they are needed, and how they scale across Biocentres.
Accountabilities:
Lead the design and governance of biobanking informatics ecosystems to support end-to-end sample biobanking.
Define and advance the informatics strategies for biocentre operations, enabling scalable data models, real-time operational visibility
Advance analytics to improve samples traceability, operational efficiency, and decision-making across biobanking workflows
Ensure robust data integrity across biobanking systems, establishing standards and controls to maintain accurate, complete, and traceable sample data across LIMS, instruments, orchestration platform and downstream analytical environments
Enable advanced analytics and operational insights for Biocentre biobanking operations, developing frameworks for RT-monitoring, performance metrics, and predictive analytics to support data-driven decision-making, improve operational efficiency and enhance sample visibility
Understands the processes, technology and services the study team relies on, their needs and pain points. Uses this knowledge to supply advice and guidance, removes barriers, supplies solutions and finds opportunities for improvement.
Partner with R&D IT (Information Technology), Global Clinical Solutions, Business Process Management Office (BPMO), to govern and productize clinical operations workflows and enable real-time decisioning and predictive analytics.
Build and lead cross functional solutions; run pilots to scaled adoption; measure ROI and operational impact.
Research and analyses business context, users, and roadmap for assigned solutions
Ensure customer requirements are understood, critically evaluated, prioritised and addressed within the given area.
Essential Requirements:
Masters degree in Bioinformatics/ Biotechnology required, PhD preferred; 2-4 years experience in automation
Defines vision, roadmap, prioritize effective to drive growth opportunities for automation and use of AI
Design and implement AI/ML and workflow automation for Global Biosample initiatives
Practical experience working with large datasets and normalised database structures
Build and lead cross functional solutions; run pilots to scaled adoption
Research and analyses business context, users, and roadmap for assigned solutions
Ensure Biosamples requirements are understood, critically evaluated, prioritised and addressed within the given area.
Ability to take business requirements and translate these into technical requirements
Networking skills, ability to interact widely and effectively both within the company (on both an interdepartmental and interdisciplinary basis) and externally
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build strong relationships
Experience in collaborating and sharing knowledge between teams
Desired Experience
2-4 years experience in AI enabled digital platform

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $143,323.20 - $214,984.80 USD Annual Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles.
