What does a Bilingual Customer Service Representative do?

Bilingual Customer Service Representatives handle customer requests by making and receiving calls about inquiries and complaints regarding rates, billing, service issues, collections, etc. in a proactive, positive and professional manner. The typical work schedule is determined by our management team and can vary considerably throughout the year.

Work may include, but not be limited to:

  • Communicating with and assisting our customers via the phone and in person in English and Spanish

  • Collecting, confirming, analyzing, and summarizing information and data from various sources

  • Operating office machines not limited to copy machines, fax machines, computers, and telephone equipment

  • Preparing and maintaining files and reports

What does it take to be a Bilingual Customer Service Representative?  

Required:

  • Must satisfactorily demonstrate fluency in English and Spanish through examination

  • High school diploma or equivalency diploma

  • Proficient computer skills; ability to type, use a computer, telephone and office equipment

  • Must enjoy interaction with the public and have sound judgment, excellent initiative and communication skills

  • Ability to work well with other people and interact with the public in a courteous and businesslike manner

  • Professional appearance, telephone etiquette and demeanor

  • High school diploma or equivalency diploma

Preferred:

  • Prior customer service and/or call center experience

All incumbents start at the same pay rate per the collective bargaining agreement.

Pay Rate: $31.74- $37.24
