Job Description:

Join the bakery team at Iowa State University and be part of a hardworking group that helps keep campus supplied with fresh baked goods each day. We’re looking for someone dependable who enjoys staying busy, follows direction well, and is ready to jump in where needed. Success in this role comes from reliability, teamwork, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment where every shift helps support campus dining operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepared dough for breads, rolls, bagels, pizzas, and other bakery items

  • Bake a variety of products including cookies, cakes, bars, muffins, pies, doughnuts, and desserts

  • Prepare icings, fillings, toppings, and sauces

  • Package and check finished products for delivery to campus dining locations

  • Load carts and assist with distributing products across campus

  • Operate bakery equipment including mixers, ovens, proofers, fryers, slicers, and scales

  • Clean equipment and maintain a safe, organized work area

  • Support additional bakery production tasks as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a bakery, patisserie, or food service setting

  • One year of experience in an institutional or commercial bakery, preparing baked goods in a high-volume environment

  • Experience with packing, loading, and verifying customer orders for accuracy and quality

About IUS Dining and the Bakery

ISU Dining is a high-volume, multi-unit operation serving students, faculty, staff, and guests across campus. The bakery team plays an important role in daily operations by producing fresh baked goods that are distributed to 20+ dining locations across the university. This work helps support quality, consistency, and efficient service for the campus community. Openings in the bakery are rare, making it a great opportunity for someone eager to grow in a hands-on bakery environment and be a part of a phenomenal team.
