Position Summary
- Guggenheim Securities (“GS”) is seeking an experienced Associate / Vice President to join its Private Capital Advisory team in New York. Private Capital Advisory is a rapidly growing and critically important strategic initiative for Guggenheim Securities. The team advises private equity, private credit, infrastructure and real estate sponsors with a focus on GP-led secondary transactions such as continuation funds, while also advising investors on structured LP secondary transactions such as collateralized fund obligations.
- Candidates will join a highly collaborative team that works very closely with industry bankers on its transactions. GS offers a unique opportunity to work on deal teams with meaningful exposure to senior bankers and clients. Associates play an integral role in enhancing client relationships, new business development and transaction execution—providing critical support on all workstreams. Candidates should be top performers who are willing to work hard in an unstructured environment where initiative, creativity, maturity, and enthusiasm for learning are highly valued.
Essential Job Functions
- Prepare and contribute to delivery of client presentations and interact with senior bankers, clients and lawyers
- Design and development of financial models and valuation analysis
- Perform company and fund-level due diligence, prepare confidential information memoranda and other transaction-related documentation
- Manage investor outreach and facilitate due diligence process
- Conduct market research including identifying industry trends
- Gather and analyze information, develop, and communicate recommendations to senior team
- Assist in identifying new potential business opportunities across the secondary market
- Contribute to management and development of analyst class
Preferred Qualifications
- 4-8 years of work experience (private capital advisory experience is preferred)
- Core modeling and valuation experience
- Significant level of maturity and the ability to interface with top private equity sponsors, secondary investors, and internal senior management
- Understanding of the private equity and secondaries markets
- Highly organized and motivated, with the initiative and ability to work with limited supervision
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Effective process management abilities
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 3 years of investment banking experience or equivalent experience
Work Location
- Currently, this role is expected to be in the New York office at least 4 days per week.
Salary
- Annual base salary between $175,000 and $250,000.
- The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
