We are seeking a curious and motivated Associate Scientist to join our Regeneron Genetic Medicines (RGM) group. You will contribute to the evaluation of gene editing technologies by designing and executing molecular biology experiments to assess CRISPR-derived outcomes across diverse nuclease platforms. This is a hands-on laboratory role in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your work will directly support the development of next-generation genetic medicines.
As an Associate Scientist, a typical day might include:
Extracting and purifying genomic DNA and RNA from mammalian cell lines and tissue samples for downstream analysis of gene editing outcomes.
Performing ddPCR, qPCR, and western blots to quantify and characterize editing events.
Preparing and quality-checking short and long read NGS libraries to evaluate on-target editing efficiency and specificity across different nuclease platforms.
Maintaining mammalian cell cultures and performing transfections and nucleofections to deliver gene editing reagents.
Analyzing and interpreting experimental data, preparing clear summaries, and presenting findings at team meetings.
This role might be for you if you:
Are genuinely curious about gene editing technologies and eager to work with cutting-edge tools in genetic medicine.
Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic research environment and are comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Are a collaborative team player who enjoys working alongside colleagues, sharing ideas, and learning from others.
Are excited about professional development—whether that means sharpening your presentation and writing skills, mastering new laboratory techniques, or expanding your scientific knowledge.
In order to be considered for this role, you must have:
A BS or MS in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, biochemistry, or a related life science discipline.
1–3 years of hands-on research experience in a molecular biology laboratory setting (academic or industry).
CRISPR/Cas gene editing systems or other programmable nuclease platforms
NGS library preparation and sequencing workflows
Viral vector production and handling (AAV, lentivirus) in BSL2 conditions
Animal handling and in vivo experimental techniques
Platforms such as Benchling and/or sequence analysis tools such as SnapGene.
