- Involvement in design/upgrade/commissioning of heavy mechanical industrial equipment related to mill type equipment, i.e., furnaces, roller tables, rolling mill, levelers, shears, cooling beds, blasters, grinders, cranes, gearboxes, fans, motors, and pumps
- Work with salary and hourly maintenance/production employees to provide the best solutions to equipment and production issues
- Interfacing with various outside entities, contractors, vendors, and suppliers to support the area with parts and services
- Responsible for maintaining preventative and reliability systems with implementation and management of checklists, surveys, and analysis
- Manage/improve infrastructure with a focus on building structure, crane runways, platforms, and roofs
- Plan extended shutdowns for installation of major maintenance items, new equipment, and upgrades
- Monitoring and identifying maintenance issues as well as implementing engineered solutions
- Support areas on day-to-day issues, breakdowns, planned maintenance and shutdowns
- Ensure safety, environmental and quality standards are being met
- Knowledge of critical spare parts management
- Manage and understand technical drawings archive for area
- Develop troubleshooting abilities to assist in unplanned maintenance activities
- Benchmarking operational and maintenance practices to improve upon safety, quality, and production
