SLC Management offers a mix of in-office and virtual work where our employees are empowered to do their best. Generally, employees are expected to work three or more days in-office each week with flexibility depending on their business, client and team needs.

Job Description:

The Associate, PFI Deal Management, will be part of SLC Management’s Business Enablement & Transformation group. This role is a key resource to grow the US third party Private Fixed Income (“PFI”) business as our complexity increases with the addition of new funds and Separately Managed Account (“SMA”) clients – all with unique requirements. The Associate, PFI Deal Management, will be a critical member in the PFI deal closing process, preparing required documentation and working closely with PFI Front Office team members, Legal, Tax, Operations and Portfolio Managers to support deal execution and lifecycle management.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Deal Closing Support

  • Assist in gathering, reviewing and validating deal terms and structures to ensure consistency across term sheets, internal systems, and closing documents

  • Coordinate allocation processes with Portfolio Management, including preparation and loading of final allocations prior to funding

  • Assist with the review and tracking of non-disclosure agreements (NDAs)


Tax Process Management

  • For every PFI deal, coordinate with the Global Tax Information Reporting team to ensure the correct forms and tax opinions are provided to external agents or counsel

  • Manage the annual W8-BEN renewal process


Know-Your-Client

  • Understand and execute the KYC process for PFI and Private Equity (PE) deal teams, acting as a key resource within the business regarding the AML/ATF program

  • This will be both in reviewing prospective transactions, as well as when SLC’s investing entities are subject to KYC processes by third parties

Regulatory Review (Compliance) Support

  • Understand the deal life cycle at a high-level in order to support requests related to regulatory reviews, compliance testing and internal audits

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • At least 2 years of investment or related experience

  • Proficient user knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Excel VBA and Power BI

  • Experience and interest in the unique structure of Private Placement investments

  • Willingness to learn, analytically inclined with a quantitative background

  • Familiarity with BlackRock’s suite of investment management technologies (i.e. Aladdin and eFront) would be an asset
