Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in designing mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks, focusing on sheet metal and fabrication processes (laser cutting, press brake forming, welding, painting, mechanical assembly) under guidance.
Support tolerance studies, design for manufacturability, and component selection.
Participate in finite element analysis (FEA) for structural integrity and thermal performance with supervision.
Learn and apply bottom-up design methodology to build accurate models and assemblies.
Help generate and maintain Bills of Material (BOM) and provide labor and material estimates under direction.
Contribute to documentation reviews, design improvements, and manufacturing process support.
Assist in writing test plans, conducting design tests, and analyzing results.
Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

Required Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Academic exposure to: SolidWorks or similar CAD tools, sheet metal design and basic fabrication processes, engineering principles and mechanics, materials and manufacturing fundamentals.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to learn quickly and work cooperatively in a team environment.
Background check and drug test results satisfactory to company standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA).
Familiarity with UL 50E, IEC 60529, and/or NEMA enclosure ratings is a plus.
Experience selecting hardware components (hinges, latch systems).
Hands-on experience with SolidWorks beyond coursework.
Exposure to environmental testing.

Pay Range Data
We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Pay range for position is $84,240 - $124,488 per year. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location.
