We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As an  Associate II, Training supporting the Quality Assurance Team in Houston, TX, a typical day will include:

  • Provide orientation and training on new course materials, selecting appropriate training aids, and preparing relevant lesson plans.

  • Apply adult learning principles and Instructional System Design (ISD) with technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for effective manufacturing process training and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Collaborate with manufacturing supervisors to develop and implement plans for training operators effectively.

  • Analyze course evaluations and monitor training efficiency through analysis of variation in outcomes, audits, and training-related Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) efficiency to gauge and improve training sessions.

  • Utilize systems to provide key performance metrics that show overdue or upcoming trainings to ensure site compliance.

  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to develop, maintain, and document an effective and efficient training program.

  • Build and modify training records and process aids for administrative activities critical to training program accuracy.

  • Provide training on system use and operation.

  • Ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements through effective training documentation and monitoring.

  • Conduct training needs assessments and identify skill gaps across departments.

  • Design and develop instructional materials, e-learning modules, and training manuals.

  • Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions for employees at all levels.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics.

  • Maintain training records and ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

  • Support onboarding programs for new hires and continuous learning initiatives.

  • Collaborate with HR and department managers to coordinate training logistics.

  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in adult learning and instructional design.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)

  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
